What is Phonics?

Phonics is a method of teaching reading by showing learners how letters and groups of letters connect to spoken sounds.
It helps build a strong foundation so anyone—from a young child to an adult—can read any word with confidence.

26 Letters, 44+ Sounds

Did You Know?

26 Letters, 44+ Sounds

Many learners struggle to read English because:
Although there are only 26 letters, English has over 44 sounds.
>The same letter can make different sounds in different words.
>Different letters combine to create new sounds.
For example:
The letter a sounds different in apple, cake, and was.
The letters ph sound like f in phone.

🌟 This is why phonics is essential—it helps learners understand and master all these sounds.

Why Learn Phonics?

✅ Makes reading simple and logical
✅ Improves pronunciation and spelling
✅ Builds confidence to read any book
✅ Helps learners of all ages, from 3 years and above

Why phonics

The Beauty of Phonics – From Sounds to Confident Reading

At Rutven, we believe learning to read should be joyful and stress-free.
When learners understand how letters make sounds, they unlock the ability to read any word, even if they’ve never seen it before.
✅ First, they recognize and listen to sounds
✅ Next, they blend sounds to read words
✅ Finally, spelling becomes easier because the sounds are already clear

🌿 This way, reading and spelling happen naturally, without confusion.

Our Franchise Models

Our Phonics Levels

We offer step-by-step levels to support every learner

At Rutven, we focus on mastering the course, not rushing through a fixed duration. Each learner progresses comfortably, step by step, with full support.

Rutven Phonics Individual Classes

Zero Level

(Individual classes)

In this stage, children are introduced to the sounds of A–Z and learn to recognize and identify each letter confidently. We help them connect letters with their sounds through simple activities and examples.
Along with phonics, we teach cursive handwriting, guiding students step by step to form letters neatly and correctly. Handwriting correction is also part of this level—each child receives individual support to improve pencil grip, spacing, and overall writing skills.

This level builds a strong base for reading and writing before moving to Level 1.

Level 1 (Individual classes) phonics from RUTVEN THE LEARNING HUB

Level 1

(Individual classes)

In Level 1, learners move beyond basic sounds to start reading and writing words confidently. They practice two-letter words, CVC words using all vowels (a, e, i, o, u), and gradually build up to CCVC, CVCC, CCVCC, CCCVCC, and CCCVC word patterns.
At this level, we assure 100% reading and 100% spelling, as students learn to write words just by using sounds. This becomes a very strong foundation for Level 2.
We recommend that every LKG and UKG child completes Level 1 before entering 1st Grade to ensure smooth reading and writing in school.

Level 2 (Group classes) phonics from rutven the learning hub

Level 2

(Group classes)

In this level, learners master digraphs such as ch, sh, th, wh, ck, and ph, and practice reading and spelling words with long vowels (a, e, i, o, u). They also learn how to add suffixes and prefixes to form new words, understand the use of silent letters, and work with R-controlled words and more complex CVCCVC word patterns. Alongside these skills, children build fluency with sight words, improve their vocabulary, and gain the confidence needed for complete textbook reading independently. This stage strengthens their understanding of spelling rules and prepares them thoroughly for advanced reading.

Phonics Worksheets

Advance Level

(Trainer-Assisted Selection)

The Advance Level includes all the learning areas from Zero Level, Level 1, and Level 2. In this stage, the trainer will carefully assess each learner and decide which level is most suitable based on their reading and writing skills.

This approach helps children or adults join exactly where they need support, whether they are beginners or already have some phonics knowledge, and progress confidently at their own pace.
